ABOUT AFL MASTERS ACT
FOOTY FOR FUN
Masters football is for men aged 35 and over to continue to enjoy a kick, a run and a beer with mates in a friendly, social and supportive environment. In the ACT, our players range from past champions in the ACTAFL to footy leagues from all over rural and urban Australia. Every year we introduce many guys who have never played Aussie Rules before to our great national game.
Our motto is ‘Footy for Fun’ – so we look after each other on and off the field. We play virtually normal AFL rules, slightly modified to minimise the risk of injury. We get to exercise our competitive spirit in home carnivals and against teams from around the ACT and NSW region, including the South Coast, out West and up to the Illawarra, Sydney and the Hunter Region. We’ve also been very successful at the annual National Carnivals. In 2019, we’re heading to Townsville, QLD to fill out the trophy cabinet again!
Our club places strong emphasis on including our wives, partners and children in all our events and activities.
